Hello, I’m Monika Legerska, and I’m passionate about lighting and lighting design. I believe good lighting is essential for our wellbeing—it’s that important.
In fact light is all we see.
So whether you’re dealing with a large commercial workplace, a home build, kitchen renovation, or a big public space, getting the lighting right will make all the difference in the world!
Monika is reliable and conscientious person with highly professional knowledge from the field of the lighting technique. I personally cooperated with her on several lighting projects like outdoor lighting, shops lighting, architectural lighting and every time with a very positive result.
I have a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, specialising in lighting and use of light. I completed 6 years of full-time studies at the Technical University of Prague in 2002. My thesis was on lighting historical buildings and churches, done in collaboration with Philips Lighting in Prague. After graduating I worked for a few years in Prague in the lighting industry on commercial projects with architects and electrical engineers to help them achieve their goals and visions in areas of lighting.
After coming to New Zealand I worked for Lighthouse in Christchurch and in Wellington. In 2013 I pioneered lighting education to architects and designers by introducing accredited lighting seminars aimed at deepening the understanding of lighting design, how we perceive light, and how essential lighting is.
My primary focus is to help people to achieve optimum results for the lighting design in their own projects, no matter how large or small.
Lighting Design Solutions is my business, and I work personally on all projects. For large projects I can assemble a team of trusted colleagues to help me.
